Synchronization with Google Calendar

What is synchronization for

With Ziblo you can synchronize your restaurant reservations with Google Calendar. This way, in addition to managing tables from the Ziblo panel, you can also view the reservations in the Google Calendar you already use every day.

Synchronization is useful for restaurateurs and collaborators who want to check schedules, covers, and reservations directly from their Google account, without having to always open Ziblo.

The function connects Ziblo’s reservation calendar to your Google Calendar. Reservations registered in the platform can thus appear in your Google Calendar, helping you keep everything more organized and accessible.

You can use this integration for:

  • viewing Ziblo reservations in your Google Calendar;
  • having an immediate overview of the day;
  • checking schedules and covers also from Google Calendar;
  • better organizing service and the dining room;
  • avoiding managing multiple separate calendars.

How it works

Synchronization occurs between your Ziblo account and your Google account. After activating it, Ziblo can send reservations to the connected Google Calendar.

In this way, when a reservation is registered on Ziblo, you will also find it in your Google Calendar, according to the settings and permissions chosen during configuration.

Synchronization does not replace reservation management in Ziblo: the Ziblo dashboard remains the main tool for inserting, confirming, modifying, and organizing tables in your establishment.

Before Activating the Integration

Before connecting Google Calendar, verify that you have:

  • an active Google account;
  • access to Google Calendar;
  • your Google account credentials;
  • a Google Calendar where you can view reservations.

If you use multiple Google accounts, for example, a personal one and a business one, make sure to connect the correct one. It is advisable to use the Google account of your business, so that reservations remain separate from personal ones.

How to Enable Synchronization

To enable the integration, log in to your Ziblo dashboard and look for the section dedicated to integrations or synchronization with Google Calendar.

The path may vary depending on platform updates, but generally, you will need to:

  1. Log in to the Ziblo dashboard.
  2. Open the integrations section.
  3. Select Google Calendar.
  4. Log in with your Google account.
  5. Authorize Ziblo to manage the connected calendar.
  6. Select the Google Calendar to use.
  7. Confirm the activation of synchronization.

After completing the procedure, verify that the connected Google Calendar is the correct one and check that test reservations or those already present in Ziblo are displayed correctly.

The Google Permissions

When connecting Google Calendar, Google asks you to authorize Ziblo to access the necessary information for synchronization.

Authorizations are used to allow the platform to:

  • read the necessary information from the connected calendar;
  • create or update events related to bookings;
  • keep synchronization active over time.

Before confirming, check that you are logging in with the correct Google account. If you have doubts about the requested permissions or configuration, contact support before proceeding.

Who should activate it

Synchronization with Google Calendar is particularly useful if:

  • you already use Google Calendar to organize the work of the venue;
  • you want to see Ziblo bookings together with other appointments;
  • you manage the restaurant from multiple devices;
  • you want to share the calendar with authorized collaborators;
  • you prefer to check the service also from your Google account.

It is also a useful feature for those who use Ziblo mainly as an internal digital agenda: you can continue to enter bookings in the panel and view them in your Google Calendar as well.

Best practices to avoid confusing calendars

To use the integration in a simple way, we recommend you:

  • use a Google Calendar dedicated to the venue’s bookings;
  • do not connect a personal calendar if it also contains private appointments;
  • verify the selected calendar after activation;
  • check the first synchronized bookings;
  • inform the staff about which calendar to use;
  • keep Ziblo as the reference point for changes, confirmations, and cancellations.

What to do if bookings do not appear

If after activation you do not see the bookings in your Google Calendar:

  • verify that you have connected the correct Google account;
  • check that the selected calendar is the one you are viewing;
  • ensure that the calendar is active in Google Calendar;
  • refresh the Google Calendar page;
  • check that the bookings are present in the Ziblo panel;
  • verify that you have granted all requested permissions.

If the problem persists, write to servizioclienti@ziblo.it providing the Ziblo account email, the Google account used, and a description of the issue.

In summary

Synchronization with Google Calendar allows you to bring Ziblo bookings into your business’s Google Calendar.

Can you continue managing tables and requests from the Ziblo panel, while also being able to check reservations in the Google Calendar you already use every day?
